Alice Levitt began her journalism career at age 13 with a cult film criticism 'zine. As an adult, stints with WWE Magazine and EatingWell led to her job at Vermont's alternative newsweekly, Seven Days, in 2008. As senior food writer she reviews restaurants, blogs, reports food news and has helped to organize Vermont Restaurant Week since its inception. Alice also writes for Seven Days' other publications: dining guide 7 Nights, bilingual airport magazine BTV, What's Good college guide and parenting monthly Kids VT. Somehow, she finds time to freelance for publications including the Boston Globe and Tasting Table. Her first book, Vermont: An Explorer's Guide, was published in 2015.
Previously the host of web series "Bite Club TV," Alice is now a regular food correspondent for WCAX-TV's news magazine program "The :30." Her "Alice Eats" segments generally run on Fridays. Each Wednesday, she spreads the gospel of the best eats in the Green Mountains on WVMT's popular radio show "Charlie + Ernie + Lisa in the Morning!" She regularly appears as a host or judge at culinary events around the state and beyond.
Alice's laurels include an AltWeekly Award for Best Food Writing, Daysies for Best Print/Online Journalist in 2014 and 2015, and two "Top Social Foodie" wins from Burlington Social Media Day. One of her reviews is featured as an example of excellence in restaurant criticism in Changing Writing: A Guide With Scenarios.
You can follow her adventures on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
Oh, and she's so hungry because food tastes good. Duh.
